October 15, 2004: We finally finished the books for September. We are consistently growing and we are very excited about the possibilities.

October 6, 2004: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It's Erik's birthday. We worked straight through it this year.

September 31, 2004: Wow, we have not listed something that was ours in almost a month. We have also received a couple of phone calls regarding the handling of entire estates. This is getting easier.

September 22, 2004: We have no more time to go out to auctions or garage sales. We are very busy writing detailed copy and taking photos. We love to list other people's stuff on eBay. It is a magnificent concept.

September 15, 2004: We are doing our best to remember everybody's name, but it's getting harder! All of our long time clients love to see us grow, and even make jokes about us not having the time to chat with them anymore. The truth is we are getting busier and we are getting better.

September 1, 2004: So many clients, so little time. We are getting so much busier, and we love it. People are coming to us from 3 different States; VT, MA, and NY.

August 28, 2004: We're still fine tuning our computer system as our client base continues to grow. We now have clients from every town in Chittenden County. We love return clients!

August 18, 2004: Woohoo! We sold our first Motor Boat. It was a 1984 Century 5000 22' Foot Cutty Cabin. It sold for $5,250. The retired couple from Essex who we sold the boat for are so happy.

August 4, 2004: A good August Omen! The 'books' are finished for July and the Second Quarter, and we are still smiling.

July 24, 2004: Our software is coming together. We can see light at the end of the tunnel. The more clients we get, the easier it gets to understand what we need to keep track of our growing client and inventory lists. We are using Excel and it is perfect for now.

July, 2004: Most of the clients were serve are great, and come from every part of Vermont and northern New York. We even sold some antiques from an 1800's Pharmacy for a client in Boston; a pair of Apothecary Show Globes for $2,425, and Medicine Bottles from the same drugstore for $1,660. They are just thrilled!

July, 2004: Vermont Garage and Estate Sales are taking up a lot of our time. The deals are great, but it does take up a lot of time. While driving around the beautiful countryside we are able to devise the next phase of growth for our company.

June 31, 2004: This was our best month yet. We are finally starting to get noticed in our community. Every month we double our sales and get more clients. We are slowly building our advertising budget.

June 20, 2004: We sold our first automobile! It was a Salvage Title Nissan 4X4 Pickup, and we sold it for $4000. The seller was a young model who was moving to New York City to start her acting career.

June 14, 2004: Splitting time between the regular duties and putting up the shelves, we have finally finished and they look awesome! It was a perfect $800 dollar investment.

June 10, 2004: We have not had enough time to get all of the shelving units up, but the ones that are up work great.

June 8, 2004: We order a bunch of used shelving units to finally outfit our our storage warehouse. It has been a long time coming, and now we are looking forward to setting them up.

May, 2004: Steady growth is really encouraging. The hard work is finally starting to pay off. We have started to design a software package to help facilitate the entire process.

May, 2004: Peter & Erik start hitting all of the local garage sales, in and out of town, to get even more items to sell. There's often a markup on items purchased that you can't match elsewhere. We even bought two $20 Computers at a garage sale to expand our business.

April 5, 2004: With more auctions running than we ever had before, we overload our Transfer Bandwidth and our host charges us a enormous fee. So, we pay the fee and buy a second web domain with plenty of extra bandwidth to host all of our own pictures.

April 5, 2004: Hurray, we have the most amount of auctions we have ever had, and everybody seems to be bidding on them. We think we will beat projections from last month.

April 4, 2004: We are lucky enough to be featured in the Business Briefs of the Champlain Business Journal. Global Garage Sale Opens in Winooski.

March 16, 2004: Sales are doubling every month, and the growth is amazing. The number of clients has tripled since we opened.

March 1, 2004: We launch the New and Improved Global Garage Sale web site, and give it a fresher, newer look. We designed and built this one with Macromedia Dreamweaver.

February, 2004: Our first clients start to receive their checks, and boy are they happy. We are Vermont's eBay Sellers, and if you need to sell something we are the guys to see.

Jan 1, 2004: We officially open for business, and start advertising and welcoming customers into our space. We are the first eBay Drop-Off Store in Vermont, possibly New England. We started with a very basic web site that we designed with Microsoft Front Page. The response is fabulous. Everybody loves the idea, and we are really taking off.

December 28, 2003: Our first big recycling deal is with Severn Trent Laboratories. STL is a leading Environmental Testing Lab in Colchester, and they get a lot of deliveries. We agree to pick up once a week to collect everything they have. By reusing their boxes and packing material, and keeping them out of the landfill, we are helping the community.

December 8, 2003: Peter Becker and Erik Holcomb buy the domain name www.globalgaragesale.net, deposit $250 Dollars Each into a new bank account, and start one of the most successful eBay Drop-Off Stores in the United States. We believe in the 3 "R's": Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We pledge to make a positive impact on our community.

November, 2003: The landscaping season is coming to an end and we need something to do. Both Peter and Erik, who had previously been Landscape Designers/Installers, are out of work. We both loved buying and selling on eBay, and had talked about trying to figure something out. It's the beginning of November and is looking like a very cold winter. That's when a friend asked us to sell some musical equipment for him on eBay. We smiled and said "Sure", and the idea evolved from there.
