3 Tintype/Tin Type/Ambrotype Civil War Soldier Photos

This auction is for two antique tintypes and one ambrotype of civil war soldiers. The ambrotype and one of the tintypes seem to feature the same solider, or perhaps they were brothers. The other tintype features an unknown General looking off to his right. All of these items are in gold colored metal frames. The frame on the General's picture is a brighter gold color and is stamped "Holmes Booth & Haydens Superfine Waterbury Conn. No. 9." The other frames are more muted and are stamped "Scoville Mfg Co Superior Waterbury Conn. No. 817." The frames on the tintypes are folded over on the covers while the frame on the ambrotype has pointed corners. The viewable portion of the ambrotype is approximately 1.5" inches wide and 2" inches tall. The viewable portions of the tintypes are about 1.5" inches wide and 1 7/8" inches tall. The tintypes show some minor tin loss while the ambrotype is relatively free of marks. The ambrotype has been taped to its frame. Please scroll down to view our photos.
