This listing is for an historic piece of IBM's history: an antique meat slicer circa 1910. The seller picked up this item during his 55 years of service at IBM. The Dayton Scale company merged with several other companies to become International Business Machines in 1911. This slicer weighs pounds in total and has the original paint, decals, and brass tag which specifies it's a "style 22" with a serial number of 1038089. The slicer measures approximately " inches wide, " inches deep, and " inches high. It's in very good condition overall with moderate scuffs and wear. "IBM was formed on 15 June 1911 from the merger of Hollerith's Tabulating Machine Company, the Computing Scale Company of America, and the International Time Recording Company. It called itself the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR), with a product line ranging 'from commercial scales and industrial time recorders to meat and cheese slicers'. The meat and cheese chopping business was sold off in 1934 – ten years after CTR changed its name to IBM."
