Antique 1800s Victorian Wooden Steamer Trunk Wood Chest Patented July 1 77 NR
This listing is for an antique wooden steamer trunk. It measures approximately 31" inches wide, 18" inches deep, and 22 1/2" inches high. There are several marks on the trunk including "Patented July.1.77", "Patented Mar.69", "Pat'd May 54 & April 73", and the name "Phil" below a star shape. To open the trunk, you swing out small metal arms on the bottom of each latch. Inside, the trunk has two antique prints, one on the front of a compartment in the lid, the other above a smaller compartment which contains a few spools of thread. In the bottom of the trunk is a vintage garment bag from the previous owner. There are four small metal caster wheels on the bottom. The trunk is in good overall condition with moderate scuffs and wear. It was once covered with leather but most of that is now gone. The straps on the sides are gone, and there is no key to lock it.
