Handmade Brian Dean Teardrop Tear Drop Mandolin Vermont
This listing is for a gorgeous one-of-a-kind teardrop mandolin handmade in Vermont by Brian Dean. This was the first mandolin he ever made, while he was living in St. Albans. He soon moved on to Montreal where he now makes and sells very high end mandolins and guitars. All of his instruments are 100% hand crafted. The mandolin measures about 26" inches long, 9.75" inches wide, and 2" inches deep. The tone is very nice and it plays well with good action. The neck is straign and all joints look to be tight. It's in very good condition and the inner label reads "Brian Dean Luthier St. Albans, VT #1 Brian N Dean Nov. 2001." The top underneath the bridge is bowed down slightly. This may or may not have been designed this way. This listing has no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
From Brian Dean's website, www.labraid.ca:
"Welcome to my workshop, a source for one-of-a-kind instruments of the mandolin and guitar families. I build 100% hand crafted instruments for Appalachian, Traditional, Celtic, World, Folk, Classical, and Jazz musicians. You'll find superior tone and workmanship in everything that exits my workshop. I'm a Virginia native; grew up on the corner of the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean in view of where the settlers of Jamestown first dropped anchor. Went to school at Virginia Tech among the great Appalachian mountains. Got a degree in Wood Science, graduated with honors, built my first two folk harps back then. Starting building mandolins after a brief stint in the Vermont countryside. Came to Montreal, Quebec, faute d'amour, and fell in love with the people instead."
