Frabel Studio Cherokee Rose Crystal Flower Sculpture NR

This listing is for a gorgeous original Cherokee Rose crystal sculpture from Atlanta's Frabel Studio. It was created by the artist Tung Bui who used hot boron glass to commemorate the official flower of Georgia. The piece measures about 7" inches high and is signed with the initials FS on the base of the stem. Hans Godo Frabel, the world's most famous flamework glass artist, is continuously inspired by nature and the world around him. Flowers especially have been the inspiration for many Frabel abstracts as well as realistic art pieces. Since the beginning of the Frabel Studio in 1968, flowers and plants have formed an important part of the Studio's realistic art repertoire. Flowers like the Lily, Dogwood, Cherokee Rose and various Orchids were recreated in realistic fashion using borosilicate glass. Wielding his creative expression, Frabel has designed glass botanicals, interpreting the essence of plant life while displaying the magic and irresistible beauty of glass. Tung Bui is a refugee from the troubles in Vietnam. He grew up and was educated in Saigon. He came to the USA in about 1982 and joined the Frabel Studio artists in October, 1988. He has an excellent eye and talent for very detailed and precise renderings of models, and his imaginative mind has been successful also in coming up with new designs included in Frabel Studio.
