Vintage 1975 Tokai 5-String Banjo W/ Resonator + Case
This listing is for a beautiful vintage Tokai 5-string banjo being sold by the original owner. It was purchased new in 1975 when the owner planned on learning how to play. He ended up storing it away shortly thereafter, so it has seen very little use. It is in great overall condition and comes with the original hardshell case. This Tokai features nice mother of pearl inlay on the headstock and fretboard, as well as an eagle on the back center of the resonator. On the inside of the ring it says 'Made In Japan' and has the number 470530 (the 3 may possibly be an 8). The tone is rich and the banjo sounds great. There are some surface cracks in the finish on the outside of the ring that you can see in the photos below. The top ring measures about 11.5" inches across, from outside edge to outside edge, and the resonator measures about 14" inches across the back. The fretboard measures 19.5" inches long and 1.25" inches wide at the nut. This listing has no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
