Antique 1906 Civil War Certificate Of Record Wm Noyes
This listing is for an antique Civil War Certificate of Record for Private William Wallace Noyes (1846-1910). It was created on September 12, 1906 by the Soldiers and Sailors Historical and Benevolent Society and signed by the historian M. Wallingsford. The certificate details Noyes' life from his enlistment in 1863 to his second marriage in 1899. It's two pages long and measures 8 1/4" inches by 19 1/2" inches. The certificate is in excellent overall condition with creases from folding and a little wear on the edges. This listing has no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the Union Army in Company F, 2d Vermont Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on May 12, 1864 at Spotsylvania, Virginia. His citation reads "Standing upon the top of the breastworks, deliberately took aim and fired no less than 15 shots into the enemy's lines, but a few yards away." (bio by: Don Morfe)
