Vintage Girard Perregaux Swiss 17-Jewel Pocket Watch With 7 Gram 10K Gold Chain
This listing is for a beautiful antique Girard Perregaux gold pocket watch. It was given as a gift to the seller's father when he left for WWII in 1943. Based on our research, the watch was most likely new at that time, so has been in the same family since then. The watch runs great and keeps perfect time. It measures 1 5/8" inches in diameter. The movement has the following information; "Girard-Perregaux & Co, Unadjusted Swiss, Seventeen 17 Jewels, GXM, 23-3304". The inside of the back cover says, "Keystone J. Boss 10K Gold Filled 9109131". The chain is 10K gold and measures about 13.5" inches long. The chain weighs 7 grams. At $1,675/oz (price on 10/10), 7 grams of 10K gold is worth $157 (source: goldprice.org). The watch is in very good overall condition with some light scuffs and scratches on the crystal and the back. It looks like there is a slight crack across the face of the sweep hand dial. The clasp at the end of the chain has been replaced with a stainless steel clasp.
