Original 1971 Herman Miller Picnic Watermelon Poster Steve Frykholm Never Hung!

This listing is for a rare Original 1971 Herman Miller Picnic Poster. It is being sold by the original owner who worked at the Harvard School of Architecture at the time and was given the poster by a Herman Miller representative. The poster is called "Watermelon" and was designed by Steve Frykholm for the second of these famous picnics that ran for 20 years. The owner has kept in in his closet all these years, so there are no tack holes. There are some creases around the edges and a few very small spots where the color has flaked off (see photos below). There is some brownish spotting on the back side. It measures 39 1/2" inches tall and 25" inches wide. We have a low opening bid price, so don't miss your chance to add this rare poster to your collection!

As head of Herman Miller’s creative crew, Steve Frykholm has shaped the company’s image for nearly 40 years and won plenty of recognition for it. But his love of poster making began with a stint in Aba, Nigeria, where he worked in the Peace Corps. The journey his posters took eventually landed them in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
