WW2 1942 US USN Navy Naval Air Station Aviator Diploma + Flight Jacket Yearbook
This listing is for a pair of original 1942 naval items that once belonged to John Bennett Carroll, flight class 6B 41-P(C). One of the items is the training certificate/diploma he received from the United States Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. The other item is called The Flight Jacket, a sort of album/scrap book and yearbook, all rolled into one. It was producted by the Aviation Cadet Regiment. The book is signed on the inside cover "Mrs. John Bennett Carroll" with the note, "Presented by Cadet Battalion Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida." There are four photographs taped inside the cover and a 8" x 10" color photo of John Carroll sitting inside. We also found a couple of news clippings tucked inside the pages, one of which has the name "Tom" written at the top with a line pointing down to a man in the photo. From the book, we learned that John was from St. Paul, Minnesota and attended the College of St. Thomas. These items are in good condition overall with some scuffs and wear from age and handling. Page 53 in the book was repaired and the tape stained that page along with page 52. This listing has no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
