1880s Brilliant Glass EAPG Jumbo Elephant Pattern Covered Pedestal Compote W/Lid
This listing is for an early American pressed glass "Jumbo" pattern covered pedestal compote. According to our research, this piece was created by Brilliant Glass in the 1880s to commemorate P.T. Barnum's circus elephant Jumbo. The piece consists of the base and lid. Nothing else is included. "Jumbo" himself has a frosted finish while the rest of the glass is clear. The lid has a few scuffs here and there. We notice a small chip on the end of Jumbo's left "tusk" and what looks like a tiny scratch on his throat. We see a line around the top of his trunk that almost looks like a crack but we can't feel anything there so we can't say for sure. The base has a manufacturing bubble below the rim on one side and a few minor scuffs but appears to be free of chips and cracks. This listing has no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
