Vtg 1920s Hammond Multiplex Folding Portable Manual Typewriter Serial F238938 G3
This listing is for a vintage Hammond Multiplex Folding typewriter (serial #F238938 G3). It's in good condition overall with scuffs and wear from use. Some keys seemed to work when we tried them (including the space bar) and the rest would either stick or not move. It's possible that they just need lubrication or adjustment, but we aren't sure. The ribbon holders are bent a bit on the ends and one is missing its top. The typewriter comes with the bottom of the case does not come with the top of the case or any parts or accessories. Due to the nature of vintage typewriters, it's selling as-is. This listing has no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!

From Typewritermuseum.org:
"The Folding Hammond that appeared in 1923 was the last of the Hammond typewriters. Four years later the name was changed to VariTyper. The Hammond Folding was in fact a Hammond Multiplex with two type shuttles, that could be turned around for immediate use. Two buttons on either side of the keyboard unlocked the keyboard and allowed it to be turned up. In folded position, the lid of the case slid over the machine, making it easier to carry. However, the Folding Hammond was a complete office size Hammond Multiplex, so although it folded into a less clumsy package to drag around, the machine could hardly be regarded a 'portable' typewriter."
