Antique 1800s Charles Austin Melodeon Foot Pump Reed Organ Concord New Hampshire
This listing is for an antique Charles Austin melodeon. Based on our research, it was built in the mid 1800s in Concord, New Hampshire. The piece is marked with Austin's name and appears to have "Concord, NH" marked below it. While we are not experts on this item, it appears to be complete. After watching some instructional videos on how to operate one of these instruments, we tried it out and were able to play a bit (please email for a link to the video). The melodeon has scuffs and wear from age and use. The top has some "bubbling" and a few small peels in the veneer. There is a stress crack in each "leg" but it doesn't effect their function. One of the pegs in the back was missing its metal pin, so we fashioned a new one out of a nail and it seems to work fine. Due to the age and condition of this piece, it is selling as-is and we would prefer to have the winner pick it up. This listing has no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
