This listing is for a wonderful set of 8 vintage Silva Mid-Century Modern dinner knives being sold by the original owner. These brushed stainless steel knives are in the 'Unique' pattern, designed by Johan Hagen in 1959 for Silva in Denmark. Based on our research, this exact pattern was later sold in the 1960s by Frederick Lunning, a division of Georg Jensen (see Lunning advertisement in photos below). Lunning described the pattern as, "Unique...an unusual, new three-dimensional pattern from Denmark...perfectly balanced...superbly designed. Made of the very finest stainless steel." A set of this 'Unique' flatware is housed at the Victoria and Albert Museum of art & design in London. The knives measure 8 1/2" inches long and are in very good condition with moderate scuffs and light scratches from use. The Lunning advertisement is not included. We have a low opening bid price, so don't miss your chance to win!
