8 Vtg 1959 Johan Hagen Sival Unique Stainless Teaspoon Spoon Set Danish Flatware
This listing is for a wonderful set of 8 vintage Silva Mid-Century Modern teaspoons being sold by the original owner. These brushed stainless steel spoons are in the 'Unique' pattern, designed by Johan Hagen in 1959 for Silva in Denmark. Based on our research, this exact pattern was later sold in the 1960s by Frederick Lunning, a division of Georg Jensen (see Lunning advertisement in photos below). Lunning described the pattern as, "Unique...an unusual, new three-dimensional pattern from Denmark...perfectly balanced...superbly designed. Made of the very finest stainless steel." A set of this 'Unique' flatware is housed at the Victoria and Albert Museum of art & design in London. The spoons measure 5 3/4" inches long and are in very good condition with moderate scuffs and light scratches from use. The Lunning advertisement is not included.
