Antique Mid-1800s Lamprell & Marble Boston 13-Star Handsewn U.S US American Flag
This listing is for an antique hand sewn 13-star American flag. It was made by the Lamprell & Marble company in Boston. The company is listed as a flag maker in the 1899 book, Seeger and Guernsey's Cyclopædia of the Manufactures and Products of the United States, published by the United States Industrial Publishing Company. The flag is stamped "Lamprell & Marble 7 357 Com'l St. Boston." It's also stamped "595" in three places. The "grommets" are actually sewn in and not made of metal. There is a short piece of rope tied onto each grommet. The flag has holes, spots, and discolorations and also appears to have several stitched repairs whose age is unknown. This listing has no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
