Rare Vintage The Gibson 5 String Banjo Trap Door Resonator Early 1900s 11220A-22
This listing is for a Rare Vintage "The Gibson" Trap-door 5 string Banjo. This is a beautiful instrument possibly made in the 1920's , the serial number is 11220A-22. The headstock says "The Gibson" in the middle of the tuning pegs and the back of the body has a Trap-door resonator. With the turn of the knob the back opens up to allow the player to hear the banjo better (there is no springing action when opening the back). There is a small acoustic hole on the back of the resonator as well. The banjo measures 36" long and the neck is 19" long with 21 frets. There are two small metal pegs on the 5th string fretboard at the 2nd and 4th frets for capoing. This banjo has a Remo Weather King Banjo Head. This instrument is in very good condition with some wear from age and storage but still plays well. The action at the 12th fret is 5/32 of an inch and the tuning pegs say Five Star Planet on them. This banjo comes with a soft shell case that has some wear but is in good condition. We have a low opening bid on this item, so don't miss your chance to win!
