RARE Vtg 1976 Kerr Bicentennial Liberty Bell Fruit Jar Set Milk Glass Hand Blown
This listing is for a set of rare, vintage Kerr Fruit Jars being sold by the original owner who purchased them in January 1977. They were made in 1976 to commemorate the US Bicentennial, and are shaped like the Liberty Bell (complete with an indented line to represent the crack). These hand blown glass jars were limited to a maximum of 1,000 of each color (ruby red, medium cobalt blue, and milk glass). The front of each jar is embossed 'Kerr Self Sealing' and the backs are embossed 'United States Bicentennial 1776-1976'. They measure 5" inches tall and 4 7/8" across the base. The bottoms have pontil marks and are marked 'Not Made For Home Canning'. We are also including an original newspaper advertisement for this set, plus a letter from 1977 sent by Kerr to the original buyer (and hand signed by AH Kerr). These jars are in excellent condition with some minor scuffs on the bottoms and some corrosion to the original Kerr metal lids. We have a low opening bid price, so don't miss your chance to add these to your collection!
