Booker T Washington Signed Cut Signature Autograph + 1940 1956 FDCs + US Stamps

This listing is for a rare signature of the great American educator and author Booker Taliaferro Washington (1856???1915). The signature is on a cut piece of paper from a typed letter written while he was the principal of Tuskegee Institute (1881-1915). This is an actual typed letter, as you can feel the bumps from the comma and period on the back of the paper. Under magnification you can see that it was hand signed with some type of fountain pen. The piece of paper measures about 5 3/4" x 2 1/4" inches. Above the signature it reads "Yours very truly" and below the signature it reads "Principal". We are also including three First Day Covers (two from 1940 and one from 1956) and five 10 cent US postage stamps. Please see the photographs below, and feel free to contact us with any questions. Booker Taliaferro Washington (April 5, 1856 ??? November 14, 1915) was an African-American educator, author, orator, and advisor to presidents of the United States. Between 1890 and 1915, Washington was the dominant leader in the African-American community.
