This listing is for an antique National Guard Gatling Battery medal. Based on our research, it was designed in the late 1800s by Corporal C.K. Urquhart for the members of the battery. The medal reads "Gatling Battery 2nd Brig N.G.S.N.Y." with the Latin "Semper Paratus Semper Fidelis" ("Always Ready; Always Faithful.") Hanging from the bottom is the number 3, perhaps indicating the number of the man wearing it. The medal is in very good condition overall with some scuffs and minor wear.
