Antique Military Cavalry Saber Sword Wood Grip Iron P-Guard German Austrian NR!
This listing is for a rare Antique Cavalry Sword. It has an iron hilt with P-form guard and saddled backstrap. The grip is solid wood, and we didn't find another sword exactly like this in our extensive web research. The closest match we found was a German Light Cavalry Saber that was used at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The blade measures 32" inches long, and the total length is 36 1/2" inches long. The top of the blade is 3/8" wide where it meets the hilt. There are no markings that we could find anywhere on this sword. It has been sharpened, and the blade has pitting and edge dings. There is a crack in the blade about 10 1/2" inches from the tip. Please see the photos below, and contact us with any questions before bidding.
