Vtg Antique Schafer & Vater German Porcelain 6" Figural Bear Milk Water Pitcher
This listing is for a wonderful Antique Schafer & Vater Bear Pitcher. It shows a bear wearing a pale green coat or bathrobe with his hands in a fur muff. This figural pitcher is typical of pieces made by the Schafer & Vater Company of Germany starting in the early 1900's. There is the crown mark on the bottom, along with the number 6427. Gustav Schaefer and Guenther Vater founded the Schaefer & Vater Porcelain Factory in Volkstedt Rudolstad, Thuringa, Germany in 1890. The pitcher measures about 6" inches tall and is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. There is some rubbing of the gold paint around the opening.
