Vtg Solingen German USN US Navy Officer's Dress Presentation Sword + Scabbard NR

This listing is for a vintage Max Oberhard Superfine U.S. navy officer's presentation sword by Solingen. It comes with the original scabbard as well as a leather carry case by Gemsco. The blade is marked "Max Oberhard Superfine Stainless" on one side of the ricasso. Based on our research, Max Oberhard was a Naval supplier in Newport, Rhode Island. The blade is marked "Solingen Germany Proved" on the other. It used to say "Made By" above the Solingen mark. These items are in good condition overall with some scuffs, scratches and other wear. There is a very tiny bit of looseness in the grip material on the sword, and one of the wrapping wires is loose on the end by the hilt. There is a small ding/dent on the metal end of the scabbard, and the area around the lower screw is slightly damaged. The Gemsco case has come unstitched in a few places, and the buckle, which does not have a key, has some corrosion.
