FDNYFire Boat Engine 49 Daily Ledger Journal
This listing is for a rare 1925-1926 New York City fire department daily ledger from the marine unit fire boat Engine 49. The book was found in the fire training academy on Randall's Island many years ago, so the boat was quite possibly stationed there. It has over 500 pages of handwritten notes in red and black ink and features a (typed) list of the crew in the front. The red entries are from officers and the black entries are from firefighters. There are lists of when fuel and oil were put in different trucks and other interesting entries such as when a cord of kindling was delivered. It's a fascinating read for anyone interested in firefighting history. The journal has scuffs and wear from age including yellowing of the pages. It measures about 14" by 9.25" by 1.5". Please see the photos below to see everything that is included, and contact us with any questions before bidding. We have a low opening bid and no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
