Rare Original Antique Tournaphone 25-Note Organette Paper Roll Organ No Reserve!
This listing is for a rare Antique Tournaphone Paper Roll Organ. It was made by the Tournaphone Music Company of Worcester, Massachusetts. Based on our research it was made in the late 1800s. This is the tabletop version that measures about 17.5(W) x 13.5(D) x 11.5(H). It comes with one paper roll that measures 13.75 inches wide. When we turned the handle the three wooden pedals moved up and down and the paper roll moved from one spindle to the other. There is no air coming through the reeds, so no sound is being produced. Most likely the bellows need to be repaired. This organette is a great display piece. It will need some restoration to play music, so is being sold as-is. There is a crack on the top of the case and a small piece missing from one corner of the lid. The lid is not currently attached to the hinges. The knob for engaging the music rolls is missing, but it still works with the piece of metal someone fit through the shaft. Several modifications have been made, including some type of grippy material wrapped around the large spindle wheels. The handle has been rigged to work, but in a way that it cannot easily be removed for shipping. It will need to ship in quite a large box for this reason.
