Rare 1943 Drink Coca Cola Start Refreshed Cardboard Litho Sign Judy Garland NR!
This listing is for a rare original 1943 Coca Cola Cardboard Advertising Sign. It reads Start Refreshed in the upper right and features an image of a US military pilot tying the roller skates of a young woman. Based on our research, these characters are based on Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland from one of their movies. Our clients father worked at a Coca Cola plant during WWII and brought this sign home. He actually ended up using this one, and several others we are selling, to cover the ceiling in a room they were building. The good news is that they were used face up, so the images were protected from any sunlight. The not so good news is that they now have a number of holes in them. The sign measures 16 x 17 inches. There is some foxing and discoloration. We used a very lightly dampened cloth to clean off a few areas, but will leave the real restoration to a professional. Please see the photos below and contact us with any questions before bidding. We have a low opening bid price, so don't miss your chance to get a great deal!
