Vtg Post-WWI Canadian Cavalry Officer's Dress Sword W/ Scabbard Crown Proof Mark
This listing is for a vintage post-WWI Canadian cavalry officer's dress sword with scabbard. The blade has lovely etching and a royal cypher. The proof mark on the plug consists of a six-pointed star (often mistakenly called the Star of David) with a crown symbol and the word "Proof." Based on our research, the word is normally "Proved", not "Proof", so this is a bit of a mystery to us. Our client informed us that this sword belonged to his grandfather. The sword and scabbard are in good condition overall with signs of wear including scuffs, scratches, pitting, and/or corrosion. The leather strap is worn but at least partially intact. Please see the photos below to see everything that is included, and contact us with any questions before bidding. We have a low opening bid and no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
Approximate measurements:
- Sword: 38"
- Blade: 32" (total length)
- Scabbard: 33"
