This listing is for a beautiful vintage Hammered Dulcimer made by Dulcimer Dan Arterburn. There is a label on the inside where it is signed and dated by the luthier. It reads 'Daniel & Pamela Arterburn
Questa, NM Sept 1987'. The dulcimer looks to be made with walnut sides, a spruce top, and a thick birch plywood base, but we cannot be certain. It measures 35.5" inches wide at the bottom, 17" at the top, and 15" top to bottom. The chamber is about 2" inches deep. The dulcimer has a lovely tone, and is in need of tuning. It weighs over 16 pounds and is in very good overall condition with some light scratches and small dings. One of the wooden screw covers is missing from the right side. The front walnut piece isn't flush against the top and bottom in the lower right corner. The dulcimer comes with a pair of Maestro cork handled conductor batons that the owner had used as hammers. There is a wooden stand that will be included only if the dulcimer is picked up locally. Please see the photos below and contact us with any questions before bidding. We have a low opening bid and no reserve price so don't miss your chance to get a great deal!
