RARE Genuine Howard Hughes Spruce Goose HK-1 Artifacts Shadowbox Plaque 59/160
This listing is for a rare piece of aviation history commemorating the 1947 flight of Howard Hughes' HK-1 Flying Boat, the Spruce Goose. This limited edition shadowbox contains genuine pieces of the Duramold and fabric from the original HK-1, along with scale drawings of the plane and a brass description plaque. These pieces of the HK-1 became available when the Flying Boat was refurbished. The shadowbox was made in 1997 and presented exclusively to members of the Conquistadores del Cielo, an elite club of aerospace and aviation executives, in cooperation with The Evergreen Air Venture Museum. It's #59 of only 160 produced and comes professionally matted and framed. There was a small brass plate on the lower front engraved with the former owner's name. The back has information about Hughes and his plane. The piece is in excellent condition overall and measures 13.25" by 19.25" with the frame. The frame has a few scuffs and the backing paper has some minor peeling and damage in the corners.
