Rare Original 1853 Pre-Civil War Anti-Abolitionist Pro-Slavery Letter Maine NR!
This listing is for a rare original Anti-Abolitionist Letter. It was written on June 12th, 1853, and is addressed to 'Friend Conway'. Parts of the letter are hard to read, but it includes some extremely derogatory language directed at African-Americans. The end of the letter lists several towns in Maine (Unity, Palermo, Appleton), so we believe it was written in Maine. The letter measures about 7" x 9" inches and is in good condition with some creasing, discoloration, and writing on the top edge.
