The piece was produced via steam printing in 1855 in Portland, Maine, and illustrates the act passed by the Maine Legislature to prohibit drinking houses and tippling shops in the state in what was a near century long battle for prohibition in the United States. The document measures about 6" tall, 3-3/4" wide and is hardcover bound. The booklet appears to be complete but the pages are loose from the detached front and back covers.
