1969 Northeast Airlines Yellowbird Pre-Inaugural Bermuda Flight Ticket Menu MORE
This listing is for an original invitation, the acceptance letter, pair of plane tickets, the flight menu, Itinerary, List of Participants, and News Release from Northeast Airlines for the pre-inaugural Yellowbird flight from Boston to Bermuda on February 28th, 1969 with the return flight on March 2. The flight was invitation only and included travel agents, political figures, and newsmen. Northeast began the regular Yellowbird Jet Service to the island from Boston on March 14. This amazing collection is well preserved and in wonderful condition. All of the invitations are addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Edward F. Knapp, Edward was the Commissioner of Aeronautics for the State of Vermont, and were members of the elite group to be on the Pre-Inaugural Flight. The two reserved seat tags for the Knapp's are now stuck together, though they could be seperated. Please see the detailed photos below, you will receive these exact items in the photos.
This collection was part of the Edward Knapp estate, who was the Commissioner of Aeronautics in Vermont and in 1970 the airport in Barre/Montpelier was renamed for him. It is now called the Edward F Knapp Airport to honor his service.
