This listing is for an original vintage 1963 Pelham Puppets "Wicked Witch" SL10/SL63 marionette, in its original box. This rare marionnette gets two build codes as the Wicked Witch was originally an SL10, but as the original factory burned down in 1961, Pelham brought in Disney animator Peter Carter-Page to create the '63 Range' of head molds for these classic puppets, which, like this one, sport a sort of Disney look to them.
Made in England, this classic marionette stands about 14" tall, suspended from its original wooden t-bar and is made from composite with a SL head mold and large open finger hands. The marionette is in very good condition, with very minor wear. Please see the detailed photos below and let us know if you have any questions.
Pelham Puppets were made in England by Bob Pelham, starting in 1947. Bob began selling these toys to children, which was a revolutionary idea at the time, as they were only ever made for professionals. After the company ceased production in the 1990s, these Enlish marionettes have become quite collectible.
