Antique 1896 Seth Thomas Adamantine 102 Black Marble Mantle Mantel Lion Clock (No Reserve, this will sell to the highest bidder at the end of the sale.)
It is in very good used condition, though it is not running correctly, and will need to be cleaned, more info is below.
The bottom is marked:
"6981H"
Which stands for August 1896.
All of the gears work and it chimes, both on the hour and half hour, but it only runs without the weight on it, which makes it runs double speed.
With the weight, it ticks for about 30 seconds and stops.
Without the weight it doesn't stop and runs about 2 times the speed it should, chiming when it is supposed to, one chime on the half hour and then the appropriate number of times for the hour.
It was last serviced in 1991, it has been sitting, not running since then.
It is about 15.5" inches long, 11" inches tall and 6.5" inches deep.
The movement is marked Seth Thomas 3 5/8.
