Antique c1890s Italian Cavalry Officer Sword House of Savoy Checkered Ebony Grip
Antique Italian Cavalry Officer Sword circa 1890s House of Savoy Checkered Ebony Grip NR (NO RESERVE, this sword will sell to the highest bidder!)
Very Good Condition. It is complete with the scabbard. There are a couple of slight bends to the blade and the scabbard. It does need a good cleaning, when I first pulled it out of the sheath it was covered in some oily paste, vasoline maybe, which I wiped off with a paper towel. The blade does turn a tiny amount through the grip all the way to the pommel.
The grip is a one piece checkered ebony surrounded by the brass bowl hilt with a thumb recess.
The blade is 31.5" inches long and 20cm wide with an over all length of 37" inches.
I couldn't find any identifying marks, there is some writing at the base of the etching, I took a photo, but could not decipher it. The etching does feature the Royal Eagle of the House of Savoy, as well as the Kingdom of Italy Coat of Arms.
The scabbard is just over 34" inches long, dented, bent, and scratched up pretty good.
Please see the detailed photos below, this is the exact sword you will receive when you win.
